The Collaborative Woodwind Quintet was formed in 2014 by wind musicians in the Collaborative Orchestra to explore and share their passion for the wind quintet repertoire. Melding its members’ international musical experiences and training, the quintet brings a fresh interpretation to both classic and contemporary pieces and seeks out opportunities to perform, engage with, and educate the public.
The wind quintet — the wind instrument counterpart to a string quartet — draws on the unique sound of each instrument (i.e., flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, bassoon), and possesses a wide palette of colours to paint its musical sound-world.
Equally at home on a concert stage, a garden party, or a classroom, the Collaborative Woodwind Quintet performs regularly in London and is part of The Collaborative Orchestra family, a fast-growing musical organisation who play to the highest possible standard.
