Hans Sigizmundovich

Principal clarinet

Hans was trained at the Odessa Music Academy, where he led the wind orchestra for three years. During this period, he studied clarinet, conducting and transcription, under some of the country’s foremost musicians and teachers.
In 2001 he won the International Young Artists Clarinet Competition and embarked on a highly successful professional career, working initially in Paris and Berlin, but subsequently touring extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He initially specialized in the music of the Russian composers who first inspired him, most notably Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky and Borodin, but later absorbed influences from many other cultures and traditions.
