David Stoneham

Born in North Kent, David started playing the cornet aged 11 and joined his school brass band. A move to the trumpet and further study within Kent Music School soon followed. He is a graduate of King’s College London, and whilst a student played with the King’s College Orchestra, University of London Symphony Orchestra and the Lydian Orchestra.

David has a keen interest in brass chamber music. One of his former teachers being Peter Reeve, a member of the legendary Philip Jones Brass Ensemble. He also enjoys playing in brass bands and has been privileged to play at the finals of the National Brass Band Championships on two occasions.

Now a versatile freelance musician, David performs with orchestras, big bands, brass bands and chamber ensembles. He can also be found in the ‘pit’ for shows across London and beyond.
