Chris Hadland

Chris Hadland was born in Oxford into a percussion family. Given his first drum kit at 6 and starting orchestral percussion at 9, Chris began studies with the Oxfordshire Music Service under Sue Lawrence at 10.

Chris Hadland was born in Oxford into a percussion family. Given his first drum kit at 6 and starting orchestral percussion at 9, Chris began studies with the Oxfordshire Music Service under Sue Lawrence at 10.

In 2000 Chris performed at the Royal Albert Hall with Stonesfield Silver Band at the National brass band finals and won prizes for solo percussion at competitions throughout Oxfordshire. With grade aid drum kit at 15 and orchestral percussion at 16 he performed freelance with Orchestras such as the Oxford Chamber Orchestra and the Oxford Symphony Orchestraas well as supporting almost every musical society in Oxfordshire for musicals such as, Chess, The Producers and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Chris graduated from the London College of Music with first class honours. At college, he won the Academia Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and was appointed fellow of wind, brass and percussion. He is studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance.

Chris teaches at St. Clare’s International College in Oxford and is currently head of percussion for the Oxfordshire County Music Service.
